The
British
Army world war one (ww1, wwI) uniform pattern 1902-1907 service dress
(SD) OR's uniform tunic or jacket is
a loose fitting garment with a turned down or "rolled" collar
( we offer this jacket in both round and tailored collar), rifle
patches on the shoulders, patch pockets on the breast and side
pockets let into the skirts below the waist. The 1902 pattern
British SD tunic comes with plain removable shoulder straps while the
British 1907 pattern ww1 SD tunic comes with sewn down cloth
shoulder straps. This is the pattern that most wwI British army
troops went to battle in. The lining is in strips of white cotton
and all facings are of the same drab serge as the jacket (pocket facings
and front button hole facings). A field-dressing pocket is sewn to
the interior right front skirt and the front is closed with 5 large
buttons. The tunics come without the buttons. The British
ww1SD tunics are fitted with ample room to allow for wearing the shirt
and cardigan sweater underneath. The neck hole is gathered by two
pleats (darts) and each side of the collar in front and the armholes
where the sleeve attaches has a reinforcing felling stitch around the
armhole. The tunic/jacket (click link for

US$ 99 (UK Pounds
64, Euro

British Army ww1 (wwI, world war 1) P'08 webbing (P08,P-08, pattern 1908 webbing) or a set of 1908 British infantry webbing equipment as the common webbing equipment worn by all British and Commonwealth infantrymen, during the Great War was called is a set of interlocking webbing straps and pouches . Our webbing is replicated from the yarn onwards. We do not dye webbing, we dye the yarn and then actually make the webbing from this yarn on web looms which were actually used to make webbing. The results are obvious. Every metal article has been carefully replicated by making a pressure die, not a casting die which is normally used. The basic set of equipment consisted of a 3 inch wide waist belt, with two angled 2 inch buckles at the rear. To these buckles the shoulder straps attach. These shoulder straps are 2 inches wide, and go over the shoulder and then buckle to the left and right hand ammo pouches, at the front of the belt. The left and right hand ammunition pouches consisted of five individual pockets, three underneath and two above, the shoulder strap is buckled to the top of the set and passed behind and underneath, there is a diagonal 1" strap leading to the rear, this is to secure the lower portion of the pack. When the rifle ammo pouches are not worn, these shoulder straps can be attached to a pair of brace attachments, or simply looped about the belt. A haversack is supplied that can be worn in a variety of positions, and methods. In this example it is worn hanging below the waist belt, but it can be also worn in the middle of the back, the lower 1 inch buckles, fixed to two 1 inch diagonal straps coming from the ammo pouches or the 'brace' attachments. An entrenching tool carrier, and water bottle carrier are also worn at or below the waist. The entrenching tool is a two piece device and the handle of which is carried strapped to the bayonet scabbard, and attached to the bayonet frog. This piece is call the 'helve carrier' or 'helve attachment' and is probably one of the most difficult pieces to locate today. A large pack was also carried and this was almost universally carried only on the back. Two long 1 inch straps were required to be used when fitting the large pack, these are known as the valise straps. The mess tin was carried where convenient, usually in the haversack. 1. British Army ww1 (wwI, world war one) Mills web waist belt: This is not an equipment belt, but was designed by the Mills company to be worn as a waist belt. It could be worn by soldiers when walking out, so the soldier was not required to pull apart the complete set of pattern 1908 web equipment to merely wear the 3” wide belt. This narrow belt has a similar appearance to the shoulder straps of the pattern 1908 web equipment. Although the edges of the belt are beaded. The buckle is the same, as the 2” brass buckles from the shoulder straps, and is attached to the belt by passing the belt through the central pillar of the buckle and sewing the end of the belt back to itself. The other end of the belt has a metal end, and a sliding brass loop. On this end there is a strip of light canvas or web. This piece of material is about 9 inches long and ½” wide. It is sewn to the belt at both ends, it runs in the centre, inside, part of the belt, and keeps the brass loop from sliding off the belt, but allows it to slide up and down the belt for that distance. This brass loop is merely to help secure the trailing end of the belt after it has gone through the buckle. This belt could be worn under the tunic, to help hold the trousers or breeches, although no belt loops were on the issue breaches.
