We at Ujna Universal are dedicated to bringing you authentic reproductions and replicas of the uniforms worn during the American revolutionary war. We have painstakingly collected the fabrics, leathers, buttons etc of the Revolutionary war period to bring you these uniforms. The uniforms of the American Revolutionary war are collected for both the British and the Patriots. The only thing which we have not been able to copy exactly so far has been the caps.

The clothing that the New England Patriots of 1775 wore (at Lexington and Concord and at Bunker Hill came from all walks of life and were simply the ones that were in fashion at that time and also work clothing. Therefore the Patriot clothing shown here is a cross section of what the Patriots wore at that time and also what was worn by the British army at that time.

British Officer’s and enlisted man clothing (the redcoats):

The Redcoat:

The British officer’s and infantrymen have been wearing the Redcoat since 1645 when it was passed into its shape at the time of the Revolutionary war (the American war of Independence) by it’s parliament.

During the Revolutionary war (the American war of Independence) the British soldiers and officer’s wore the wool red coat which was red/scarlet and was often a regimental purchase. The Revolutionary war (the American war of Independence) British red coat is made in melton broadcloth wool and is dyed to the correct color. The buttons are in pewter and is mostly hand stitched except for internal portions. The 13.5 oz wool is ideal for both summer and winter wear. The ribbing on the Revolutionary war (the American war of Independence) British redcoat is in white/off white tape – just as it was done at that time. The ( American war of Independence) British redcoat tunic top and skirt are both lined in wool. The edges of the ( American war of Independence) British redcoat is left raw and the coat is closed at the chest with hooks and eyes. The lapels on the ( American war of Independence) British redcoat can be closed one over the other to keep the coat closed.

The British redcoat at the time of the US Revolutionary war is available at US$ 155/pc including custom tailoring, hand stitching and door delivery.

Shirt

The British red coat was worn with a white cotton shirt. The British redcoat uniform was worn with a 11oz handmade white cotton shirt. The white shirt which was a part of the Redcoat uniform was worn by officer’s with frills and should eb specified at the time of making the order.

The Shirt which was worn by the British at the American war of Independence is US$ 47 including custom tailoring and door delivery.

Trousers:

The British redcoat uniform was worn with white fall front trousers and is available with hand stitching and seat reinforced. The Trousers worn with the Redcoat uniform during the American war of Independence have an adjustable waistband and deep front pockets. The trousers come with pewter buttons. A gusset and buttons surround the ankle and the top of the shoe.

The Trousers for the British Redcoat uniform trousers as worn during the American war of Independence is US$ 92 including hand stitching, custom tailoring and door delivery anywhere in the world.
